The United States Capitol, also known as The Capitol Building or The Capitol, is the place where the United States Congress meets and the seat for the legislative branch of US federal government.
It is located on Capitol Hill, Washington, DC, at the eastern end the National Mall.
Although it is not at the geographic center, the Capitol serves as the origin point for the district’s street-numbering system, and its four quadrants.
