Description
The San Jose Municipal Rose Garden, a historic rose garden, is located in San Jose, California’s Rose Garden District.
The garden was established in 1927 and is dedicated exclusively to roses.
It has more than 3,500 shrubs that represent 189 rose varieties.
The AARS voted the SJ Municipal Rose Garden America’s Best Rose Garden.
This was the first national competition.
The garden covers 5.5 acres and was once a prune tree.
San Jose purchased it in 1927.
