The San Diego Zoo Safari Park is a 1,800-acre zoo located in San Pasqual Valley, California, near Escondido.
It is the county’s largest tourist attraction.
It houses a wide range of endangered and wild animals, including species from Africa, Asia, Europe and North America.
The park is located in semi-arid conditions.
One of its most distinctive features is the Africa Tram which explores the vast African exhibits.
These enclosures are free-range and can house animals such as antelopes.
The park is also known for its California condor breeding programme, which is the most successful of its kind in the United States.
