Description

San Antonio Missions National Historical Park, a National Historical Park, is part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site that preserves four of five Spanish frontier missions in San Antonio (Texas), USA.

These outposts were established to spread Christianity among the local Native Americans by Catholic religious orders.

These missions were part of a colonization network that extended across the Spanish Southwest in 17th, 18th and 19th centuries.
