John Fitzgerald Kennedy Memorial
Attraction in Dallas, Texas

Description
The John Fitzgerald Kennedy Memorial, a monument to United States President John Fitzgerald Kennedy, is located in downtown Dallas’ West End Historic District.
It was erected by Philip Johnson in 1970.
Jacqueline Kennedy approved the John F. Kennedy Memorial, which was created by Philip Johnson, a famed American architect who was a close friend of Kennedy’s.
Johnson described it as a place of quiet refuge.
It was a place where one can contemplate and think, yet is still close to the sky and the earth.
Dallas raised $200,000 to pay for the memorial in August 1964 entirely through 50,000 private donations.
